The economic division aims to strengthen the economic relationship between the Netherlands and Indonesia. In order to achieve this, it offers assistance to both Dutch and Indonesian companies and institutions which aim to maintain and increase economic and business relationships. In this respect, the economic division of the Dutch Embassy works closely together with the the  Agentschap Nederland, which is part  of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs that implements programs, regulations and law for 11 ministries and 17 clients and the  Indonesian Netherlands Association (INA).

Furthermore, the economic division is responsible for the development cooperation programmes on the investment climate, water management, drinking water and sanitation, environment and energy. As a result, several experts on these issues are working at the economic division.
